The Talladega College track & field program delivered an outstanding performance at the Falcon Classic & Multi, highlighted by national qualifying marks, multiple school records, and top finishes across the board.
Leading the way was Lamoy Duffus, who captured first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.47, surpassing the NAIA 'B' qualifying standard. Duffus continues to establish herself as one of the top sprinters in the country, currently ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in both the 100m and 200m.
On the men's side, Jaedon Chambers turned in a strong performance, finishing second overall in the 200-meter dash, continuing his impressive outdoor campaign.
In the field events, Jaylan Haynes delivered a standout effort, placing fourth in both the hammer throw and shot put, while also breaking the school record in the hammer throw.
Talladega saw another record-breaking performance from Amone Tolliver, who placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.2 meters, setting a new school record in the event.
Distance runner Mary Rodriguez also etched her name in the record books, breaking the school record in the 5,000-meter run with a strong showing against a competitive field.
Overall, the Tornadoes competed at a high level against a mix of NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA programs, continuing to build momentum as the outdoor season progresses.
Talladega will look to carry this success into upcoming meets as the team prepares for conference championships and national qualifiers.
