Stewart finishes fifth as Tornadoes take second at CAC Tournament

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Talladega men's golf team wrapped up the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday afternoon, picking up second place behind a team score of 950. The event was held at the Outlaw Course at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex and was hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University.
 
The Tornadoes got better with each round, shooting 37-over in the opening round before shaving ten strokes off the total score in the second round on Monday. The final round came on Tuesday, when Talladega shot 22-over, just six strokes off the round leader.
 
Izaiah Stewart led the way for the Tornadoes, shooting a three-round total of 233 to finish in fifth place individually. He racked up six birdies for the tournament, including three on the final nine holes on Tuesday afternoon.

The top ten individuals were separated by 10 strokes, with Daniel Kirby of the University of Victoria taking home the crown with a score of 227.
 
Sawyer Edwards Wesley Jenkins tied one another for eighth with a mark of 237, while Nick Ledbetter's 243 landed him in a tie for 13th. Damil Atullah rounded out the scoring for the Tornadoes, doing so with a score of 251 to land in a tie for 17th place.
