Talladega Takes Seconds At Continental Athletic Conference Championship

PARAGOULD, Ark. – The Talladega College men's golf team wrapped up a second-place finish at the Continental Athletic Conference Championship.

The event took place at the Paragould CC on Monday, Apr. 29 and concluded Tuesday, Apr. 30.

The Tornadoes registered a 57-over par for second place in the six-team field. Victoria BC won the tournament after shooting 16-over par. The victors shot +4, +7 and +5 over the 54-hole tournament.

The Tornadoes shot 17-over par, 19-over par and 21-over par in each of the three rounds.

Talladega's Damil Ataullah jumped up two spots in the final round after shooting one-under par over the last 18 holes. He tied for fourth place.

Payne Stewart took sixth after shooting nine-over par, for the tournament. He accounted for scores of +1, +3 and +5.

Wesley Jenkins garnered a 1-th-place effort. He shot 17-over par. Gage Miller earned a 15th-place finish after shooting 26-over par. Nick Ledbetter's 31-over par was good enough for 17th place.

Crowley's Ridge was third (+97) while Florida College (+111), Haskell Indian (+115) and Wilberforce (+225) completed the field.
