WEST POINT, Miss. – The Talladega College golf team finished 12
th at the Blue Mountain Golf Classic.
The event, which was supposed to be March 25-26, was shortened to just one day due to weather.
The tournament took place at the Mossy Oak Golf Course. It was played on a par-72, 6,906-yard course.
Dalton State and Point shared the title after shooting 13-over par, 589. The Tornadoes took 12
th after posting a final tally of 55-over par, 631. Talladega finished just two shots behind 10
th-place Faulkner.
Payne Stewart garnered a top-20 finish with his eight-over par, 152 effort. Stewart shot even-par 72 during the first round before firing an 80 on the next 18 holes of play for 20
th place.
Damil Ataullah shot one-over par, 73, Monday morning before notching a 12-over par, 84, for the second round. His two-round 157 was good enough for 34
th place.
Bryce Denley and Wesley Jenkins tied for 60
th after shooting 19-over par, 163. Nick Ledbetter's score of 167 was good enough for 69
th place.
The Tornadoes return to action Apr. 15-16 at the Battle at the Bay in Chattanooga, Tenn.
