Sofi Wagner-Stiles & Jazzmenn Bibbens Named All-HBCUAC

DECATUR, Ala. - Two Talladega College Tornadoes freshmen received All-Conference honors from the HBCU Athletic Conference Softball on Tuesday night during the awards banquet at Ingalls Harbor Pavilion.
 
Freshman pitcher Sofi Wagner-Stiles was named an All-HBCUAC First Team selection, while freshman Jazzmenn Bibbens was named All-HBCUAC Second Team at first base
 
Wagner-Stiles posted a 7-6 record in the circle with a complete game in all 11 starts. The Canadian from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, is third in the HBCUAC in wins and leads the conference with four shutouts. She is second in strikeouts with 113 in 13 games, an average of 7.61 per game. She has a 3.63 ERA, which is fifth in the HBCUAC, while holding opposing teams to a .305 batting average. Offensively, she hit .275 with four RBI through 51 plate appearances.
 
Bibbens was the second-best Talladega hitter among every day players with a .325 batting average and 26 RBI. Her .379 on base percentage is the best among Dega players with more than 15 games played.
 
Talladega (12-17) will open the HBCU Athletic Conference Softball Championship on Wednesday, April 23 at noon when it meets Voorhees University at the Wilson Morgan Complex.
