SHREVEPORT, La. - The Talladega women's track team closed out the HBCUAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday, finishing the weekend in second place as a team. Dillard took home the team title, while the Tornadoes finished 20 points ahead of third-place Wiley.

Lamoy Duffus got things started for Talladega on Saturday, coming in fifth place behind a mark of 10.12m (33' 2½") in the triple jump. Alexis Goodman (1.66m/5' 5¼") followed with the team's first win of the day in the high jump, with Aliana Taylor (1.52m/4' 11¾") taking third place.

On the track, Talladega snagged second in the 4x100 relay, as the group of Duffus, Kishawna Wallace, Dhae'nia Pinnock and Dhenecia Pinnock teamed up for a mark of 48.95. Jewel Cross (5:17.40) then produced an event-winning time of 5:17.40 in the 1500, setting a new personal-best.

Taylor (16.31) went right back to work with a second-place finish in the 100 hurdles, holding off a late push from Jakayla Brown of Voorhees. Taylor later added another top-two finish, doing so with a time of 1:10.04 in the 400 hurdles.

Talladega turned in half the field in the finals of the women's 100, highlighted be Duffus' third-place effort of 12.35. Dhenicia Pinnock (12.62) took sixth, while Wallace (12.89) and Dhae'nia Pinnock (13.04) rounded out the top eight.

Dhenecia Pinnock came in third in the 400 with a time of 59.39, while Duffus (1:04.55) came in eight place. Cross added her second individual title of the day with a win in the 800, doing so with a time of 2:30.74, nearly four full seconds ahead of second place.

In the 200, Duffus produced a new PR time of 24.86, good enough for third place on the podium. Dhenecia Pinnock (25.75) narrowly held off her sister Dhae'nia (26.61), for sixth place, while Wallace's season-best time of 26.95 gave Talledega four of the top eight runners in the event.

Cross continued her dominant afternoon in the 5K, taking home yet another event win in the 5K behind a time of 23:14.21.

In the final women's event of the weekend, Duffus, the Pinnocks and Taylor gave Talladega a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay, doing so with a time of 4:13.58. Â Â

The Tornadoes are set to close out the season on April 27, when they take part in the Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama.
