Talladega track and field closes out meet in South Carolina

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Talladega track and field teams wrapped up the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Saturday, with the men landing in 20th and the women coming in 23rd.
 
Junior Jaedon Chambers wrapped the men's 100 in tenth place, doing so with a time of 10.82, while teammate Christian Louis (10.91) came in 18th. Chambers (21.75) followed with an event win in the 200, narrowly holding off Mount Olive's Jason Hart and Colgate's Ethan Eisner.
 
In the men's 800, sophomore Decquan Nisbett gave Talladega a fourth-place finish behind a season-best mark of 2:01.86, while Isaiah Millet (2:06.50) came in 14th. Nisbett (4:49.99) turned in another season-best time in the mile run, finding himself in 25th individually.
 
Talladega's 4x100 relay team of Kaleb Tankard, Louis, Justin Emmanuel and Jaedon Chambers picked up seventh with a mark of 42.07. Arlen Epps continued an impressive freshman campaign, picking up ninth in the men's 400 behind a time of 51.19.
 
In the men's field events, junior Stephon May took seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.95m (6' 2¾") on his fourth effort of the day. Tankard came in 24th in the same event behind a distance of 6.19m (20' 3¾").
 
May later added a 17th-place finish in the long jump, with his second attempt landing him in the pit at 6.37m (20' 10¾") before closing out his weekend with a new collegiate-best in the javelin (28.87m/94' 9"). Joel Wilson highlighted the javelin for the Tornadoes, as the freshman came up with a toss of 46.01m (150' 11") on his very first throw.
 
Danrick Robinson took home 12th place in the men's shot put (13.43m/44' ¾"), with teammate Jaylen Haynes (12.74m/41' 9¾" snagging 18th. Eusebio Hernandez gave Talladega three of the top 24 individuals in the field, doing so with a distance of 12.17m (39' 11¼").
 
On the women's side, Lamoy Duffus (12.31) took ninth in the women's 100, with teammate Dhenecia Pinnock (12.70) picking up 20th. Jewel Cross (2:38.58) followed with a 12th-place finish in the women's 800, with freshman Aliana Taylor earning 19th in the 100 hurdles behind a mark of 16.14.
 
The 4x200 team of the Pinnock sisters, Kishawna Wallace and Duffus gave Talladega a fifth-place finish, turning in a combined time of 1:43.41. The same group went on to take home fifth in the 4x100, as well, doing so with a time 48.11.
 
Cross came up with 22nd in the women's 5K after producing a time of 21:52.43, while Pinnock's 25.52 was good enough for 20th in the 200.
Alexis Goodman (25.11m) picked up 19th in the women's javelin, with teammate Netanya-Love Ducksworth (17.97m) taking 29th. Duffus (4.80m) placed 26th in the long jump, and Taylor added a fourth-place high jump finish (1.50m) to her weekend resume.
