The Talladega Women's Track and Field team finished second in the 2024 GCAC Track and Field Championship, pulling away from Wiley during the final day to secure the second spot.
The Tornadoes had a number of top three finishes, securing meet points that were crucial in earning second as a team. Their lone event win came in Triple Jump, where
Lamoy Duffus posted a 10.27m jump to win the event.
Talladega earned second-place finishes by Duffus in Long Jump,
Kalena Hall in Shot Put, Elisa Clay in Hammer Throw, and
Amia Montgomery in 400m Hurdles, and then Jewel Cross posted a pair of third-place finishes in both the 800m and 1500m runs to round out the podium finishes for Talladega. Duffus, Hall, and
Dhenecia Pinnock had multiple fourth-place finishes, earning Talladega important meet points despite falling just outside the top three.
