The Talladega College women's soccer team continued their remarkable run through the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Tournament, defeating Wiley College 4–2 Wednesday morning at Lee Hedges Stadium to secure a spot in the HBCUAC Championship Game.
The Tornadoes came out firing early, scoring three goals in the first 25 minutes of play. Shamya Daniels opened the scoring in the 15th minute off an assist from Mya Ramdoo, setting the tone for a strong offensive performance. Daniels later returned the favor, assisting Gabrielle Bryan in the 21st minute to double Talladega's lead. Moments later, Annalisa Vincent, the conference's leading scorer, added another tally in the 25th minute to make it 3–0.
Wiley College responded with a penalty kick goal just before halftime to cut the deficit to 3–1. In the second half, Vincent struck again in the 64th minute—her 33rd goal of the season—off an assist from Cycoiah Wattley, sealing the win and keeping the Tornadoes in control. Wiley managed one more goal late in the match, but it wasn't enough to overcome Talladega's dominant display.
Goalkeeper Alyssa Johnson recorded five saves in the win, anchoring a defense that held steady under pressure and helped preserve the two-goal advantage.
The Tornadoes' balanced attack and disciplined play now send them to the HBCUAC Championship Game, where they will compete for the conference title. With the victory, Talladega improves to 8-4-0 overall and remains unbeaten in conference play.
