TALLADEGA - Year two of the Akia Stanton era for Talladega College women's basketball tips off Saturday, Oct. 28 as the Tornadoes travel to Memphis to meet NCAA Division II foe LeMoyne-Owen College at 4 p.m.

Following the trip to Memphis, Talladega will host Voorhees College for Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 4 at noon. It is the first of 10 home games this season in the Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center. Dega remains home Nov. 7 when Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) comes to town for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) opener.

Talladega returns to the GCAC this season after a two-year hiatus. The Tornadoes are predicted by the GCAC coaches to finish seventh in the conference this season.

Nine of the next 10 games this fall will be played on the road, including a road trip to South Carolina Nov. 9-11 to play Morris College and Voorhees before a trip to Georgia for exhibitions against NCAA Division II schools West Georgia and Georgia Southwestern. The Tornadoes roll west to Marshall, Texas on Nov. 28 for a GCAC contest, and play at Oakwood in GCAC action on Dec. 2 before hosting Fisk University on Dec. 11. December will come to a close with a pair of neutral site games in Melbourne, Florida against DII schools Clayton State and Flagler before a trip to DIII Wesleyan College in Georgia on Dec. 30.

The second semester will feature an all HBCU schedule with a mix of GCAC games and DII non-conference Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents. Seven home games are played in the second semester beginning with Dillard on Jan. 6 and Fort Valley State on Jan. 8. A two-day swing to Mississippi to play GCAC foes Tougaloo and Rust College will be followed by home games against Oakwood and Rust the following week.

Talladega will play seven-straight road games beginning with Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, followed by trips to Georgia, Louisiana and Tennessee. Three of the last five games are scheduled as GCAC home events, beginning with Tougaloo College on Feb. 13, Wiley on Feb. 21 and Philander Smith on Feb. 24. The Hope Credit Union GCAC Women's Basketball Championship will be Feb. 28-March 3 in Tuscaloosa.
