MEN'S SOCCER DROPS TILT AT GEORGETOWN (KY.)

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - On Friday afternoon, the Talladega College men's soccer team hit the pitch for their second of what will be three straight away matches to start the season. The Tornadoes battled the Georgetown College (Ky.) Tigers at Toyota Stadium on the GC campus, and the Tornadoes fell for the second time this week.

Talladega (0-2) struggled to find their offensive legs against an unbeaten Georgetown (4-0-2) squad, and the Tigers took the win by the tally of 5-0.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the eighth minute on a goal from Jake McKettrick, and while Georgetown added another marker in the 25th minute, Talladega goalkeeper Leonard Richardson made a trio of saves in the opening 45 minutes that kept the Tornadoes in the match.

Georgetown continued to apply pressure in the second half, and they added three more goals, but Richardson made five more stops to finish the match with eight saves.

The Tornadoes will face another stiff test on Saturday, September 24, when they open up the Southern States Athletic Conference slate on the road at the NAIA No. 2 University of Mobile (4-0-1). The match is scheduled to kick off in Mobile at 4 p.m. Central Time.
