Road Setback in Georgia — Tornados Fall 3-0 at Florida College

Talladega College vs Florida College

In a tough road outing at the Grizzly SOC Complex in Lawrenceville, Ga., the Talladega Tornados were blanked 3-0 by Florida College on October 18, 2025. The hosts struck first in the 32nd minute, and Talladega was unable to reverse the momentum. Florida College added two more goals in the second half—one at 60:48, another in the dying seconds at 89:59—to seal the result.

From a statistical standpoint, Talladega struggled to get forward. The Tornados managed just 3 shots over the match, none of which found the net. Florida College, on the other hand, peppered the goal with 18 shots (11 on target) and forced Talladega's keeper to make 8 saves to stay in the contest. Corner kicks were similarly lopsided: Talladega earned just 1, while Florida College generated 6. In terms of discipline, Talladega committed 13 fouls to Florida's 9, and Talladega's #12 Jared Smeins drew a yellow card in the 75th minute.

Talladega's defense held firm at times, especially in the first half, but were stretched once Florida College found its attacking rhythm. Talladega's best chances were limited, and the traveling side couldn't convert on the few opportunities they mustered. The Tornados' keeper, Tariq Singh, was busy all match, facing constant pressure.

In the final assessment, the 3-0 loss stings, but even in defeat there is clarity. Talladega will need to sharpen its attacking execution, be more assertive off turnover, and find ways to relieve pressure in matches where possession is tilted away. As the season progresses, the team must use results like this as teaching moments—where resilience, sharper transitions, and careful defending against dangerous chances can make the difference.
