BIRMINGHAM, ALA - Talladega College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the UAB Spring Invite hosted by the University of Alabama- Birmingham. The meet included professional athletes, Olympians, and over 30 schools from Division 1, Division 2 and NAIA programs.
Talladega had several stand-out performances and secured multiple event wins to round out their day in Birmingham.
Emmanuel Niang continued his winning ways finishing first amongst collegiate competition in the 110m hurdles with a national championship automatic qualifying time of 14.30.
Nastario Williams followed up his fellow teammate's performance with a first-place finish time of 10.75 amongst collegiate competition in the 100m dash. Nastario also posted the No.1 Javelin mark in the SSAC with a throw of 44.60m and 22nd best 200m dash time in the nation with a second-place finish time of 21.65
On the women's side, Shanice Battle finished 24th of 53 in the 200m dash with a time of 26.15. Shanice 200m time is currently the 7th best in the SSAC.
Talladega will return to action next Saturday in Birmingham, AL at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Alabama- Birmingham.
