TALLADEGA, Ala. – Blue Mountain College scored two goals in each half on the way to a 4-1 victory Saturday evening over the Talladega College men's soccer team in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest.
The Tornadoes fell to 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in the SSAC and BMC pushed the Toppers' record to 4-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.
After two goals from BMC,
Tyrike Andrews found the back of the net for the first time this season in the 37th off an assist from
Gabriel Vielma to cut the Toppers' lead to 2-1. However, Blue Mountain scored two more goals in the second half to grab the 4-1 victory.
Leonard Richardson came away with seven saves against 11 shots faced. Alongside his goal, Andrews posted two shots on goal and
Jevaughn Smith also registered a SOG.
Felipe Santos finished with two goals to lead the Toppers while Niels Van den Bosch came away with two saves.
The Tornadoes will now prepare for a pair of road SSAC games with a trip to Mount Vernon, Georgia on Oct. 13 to face Brewton-Parker College at 7:30 p.m. followed by an Oct. 15 match at Middle Georgia State College in Macon, Georgia at 2:20 p.m. Both times are listed as central.
