EARLY GOAL THE DIFFERENCE IN TALLADEGA'S LOSS TO FAULKNER

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Faulkner University Eagles scored one goal early and then added a second as time expired to hand the Talladega College men's soccer team a 2-0 loss in the Tornadoes' Southern States Athletic Conference home opener.
 
Antoine Marques scored the first goal at the in the 29th unassisted to give the Eagles the slimmest of separation.

It was enough to secure a win, but the Eagles scored a goal off the foot of Gabriel Dias with an assist from Ilan Tabet as time expired to earn the 2-0 victory and give Talladega an 0-4 record overall and a 0-2 mark in conference play.
 
Leonard Richardson led a quality defensive effort as the goalkeeper finished with 11 saves against 13 shots on goal from the Eagles.

Jevaughn Smith posted two shots on goal to lead the attack for the Tornadoes as Adelin Gomis also put up an SOG as well.
 
Next up on for Talladega College is a home match against SSAC opponent Blue Mountain College set for a 3:30 p.m. CST start on Oct. 8.
