The Talladega College baseball team secured two victories over Campbellsville University before dropping the series finale in a three-game matchup at HIG Field.
Talladega opened the series with a strong offensive performance, defeating Campbellsville 7–4. The Tornadoes broke through in the third inning with two runs before adding four more in the fourth to take control of the game. Talladega finished with seven hits while the pitching staff held Campbellsville to five hits to secure the victory.
Diego Duque led the offense with two hits, including a pair of doubles, while the Tornadoes capitalized on key opportunities to bring runners home during the middle innings.
In game two, Talladega delivered its most dominant performance of the series, shutting out Campbellsville 8–0. The Tornadoes scored early with runs in the first and third innings before erupting for six runs in the sixth to put the game away. Talladega collected four hits but showed patience at the plate, drawing nine walks and using aggressive baserunning with five stolen bases.
The pitching staff was outstanding, limiting Campbellsville to just four hits and keeping them off the scoreboard for the entire game.
Campbellsville responded in the series finale, defeating Talladega 2–0 in a seven-inning contest. The Tornadoes managed three hits but were unable to capitalize offensively as Campbellsville's pitching staff kept Talladega off the scoreboard. Despite the loss, Talladega's pitching held Campbellsville to five hits in a tightly contested game.
With the series results, Talladega showed strong performances both on the mound and at the plate, highlighted by a shutout win and consistent pitching throughout the weekend.
