Talladega College Men's Basketball Closes Regular Season Strong, Ready for Next Week

Talladega closes the regular season 13–11 overall and 9–3 in conference play, finishing No. 2 in the East Division and ready for next week’s HBCUAC Tournament.

The 2025–26 regular season marked a statement year for the Talladega College men's basketball program. Under first-year head coach Jameus Hartsfield, the Tornadoes finished 13–11 overall and an impressive 9–3 in conference play, securing the No. 2 seed in the East Division of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC).

In Coach Hartsfield's inaugural season, the Tornadoes established an identity built on toughness, discipline, and resilience. From early-season challenges to pivotal conference matchups, Talladega consistently responded with grit, earning key victories that propelled them near the top of the standings.

Conference play proved to be where the Tornadoes truly found their rhythm. Finishing 9–3 in league competition, Talladega demonstrated balance on both ends of the floor. The offense delivered timely scoring, while the defense locked in when it mattered most, particularly in second halves where adjustments shifted momentum in the Tornadoes' favor.

Their No. 2 finish in the East Division reflects not only success in the standings, but the growth of a team that bought into a first-year system and elevated expectations along the way.

Now, the focus shifts to postseason play.

As the No. 2 seed in the East Division, Talladega heads into next week's HBCUAC Tournament confident, battle-tested, and ready for the opportunity ahead. The regular season laid the foundation. The work, the growth, and the resilience have prepared this team for the moment.

The Tornadoes are locked in.
They are prepared.
And they are ready for next week.
