Talladega Men's Basketball closed out a strong weekend on the road with back-to-back wins, defeating Voorhees University 86-76 on Friday, Feb. 14, before pulling away for an 87-70 victory at Morris on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Game 1: Talladega 86, Voorhees 76 (Feb. 14)
Talladega set the tone early in Denmark, jumping out front and carrying a 45-32 halftime lead into the break. The Tornadoes stayed in control down the stretch, answering every push from Voorhees to secure the 10-point road win.
The Tornadoes were productive inside and aggressive defensively, turning 22 Voorhees turnovers into 32 points while scoring 42 points in the paint. Talladega also got a lift from the bench with 34 bench points.
Game 2: Talladega 87, Morris 70 (Feb. 15)
Talladega came out firing in Sumter and put Morris on its heels immediately, building a commanding 51-23 halftime advantage. The Tornadoes maintained control in the second half and finished off the weekend sweep with a 17-point win.
Talladega shot 32-of-59 from the field and 9-of-20 from three, while forcing 21 Morris turnovers and converting them into 31 points. The Tornadoes also owned the tempo with 12 fast-break points and had balanced scoring throughout the lineup.
