Talladega College has announced the appointment of Ivi Wilson as the new Sports Information Director. In addition to this role, Wilson has served as the College's Assistant Athletic Director for the past two years.
Wilson's journey with Talladega College began in 2018, when she started as a volunteer counselor for the athletic department, focusing on the mental well-being and character development of student-athletes. In 2019, she joined Coach Teejay Wilson as Assistant Coach for the JV Men's Basketball Team, a position she held until 2024.
That same year, Wilson was hired as the Associate Dean of Students for Intramurals, and shortly after, she transitioned into her current role as Assistant Athletic Director in the summer of 2024.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University and is on track to complete her MBA from Talladega College this fall.
Reflecting on her time at Talladega, Wilson shared her deep appreciation for the opportunities the institution has provided.
"I love what I do at Talladega College—always have," Wilson said. "This place has allowed me to grow in my career and work with some amazing people."
While her new role as Sports Information Director is uncharted territory, Wilson embraces the challenge.
"I just want to work hard to put out a good product for Talladega College and highlight our coaches and athletes the way they should be," she added.
Athletic Director Andre Payne expressed his excitement about Wilson's new role: "We are excited to have Mrs. Wilson step into the role as SID. Once again, she is stepping up to the plate for the athletic department, and we know that she will knock it out of the park."
