The Talladega College women's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season on a high note, defeating conference rival Wilberforce University 3–1 (25–18, 25–22, 18–25, 25–21) Saturday afternoon before a large home crowd.
The Tornadoes came out strong, taking control early behind consistent serving and solid defensive play. After winning the first two sets, Talladega weathered a Wilberforce rally in the third before closing out the match in the fourth to seal the win.
Senior outside hitter Azha Dudley led the Tornadoes with 21 kills on a .348 hitting percentage, adding 10 digs and two service aces for a match-high 23.5 points. Taquoia Rounds added 15 kills, five aces, and a team-best 16 digs, while setter Sha'Niya Cribbs directed the offense with 29 assists and seven digs.
Briyith Echeverri contributed 13 digs and three service aces, and Kortni Johnson chipped in four kills and two blocks to round out the balanced team effort.
Talladega finished the match with 41 kills, 60 digs, and 13 service aces, hitting .133 as a team.
With the win, the Tornadoes close the regular season with momentum heading into the HBCU Athletic Conference Championship, set for November 10–12 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
