The Talladega College volleyball team turned in an outstanding performance Friday night, earning back-to-back conference victories over Rust College in a home doubleheader. The Tornadoes swept the first match 3–0 before closing out the second match with a 3–1 win inside the Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center.

In the opener, Talladega was in complete control from the start, winning by scores of 25–7, 25–11, and 25–7. The Tornadoes hit an impressive .250 as a team while holding Rust to a negative attack percentage.
Kortni Johnson led the way with 11 kills on .611 hitting and added a block assist. Taquoia Rounds followed with 10 kills and seven assists, while setter Sha'Niya Cribbs recorded 11 assists and three service aces. Azha Dudley added two service aces, two blocks, and seven digs to help complete the sweep.

In the nightcap, Talladega continued its strong play, taking the match 3–1 by set scores of 25–13, 25–7, 22–25, and 25–9. After dropping a close third set, the Tornadoes stormed back to close out the fourth with a dominant finish.
Rounds once again led the attack with a match-high 21 kills and eight digs, hitting .500 on the night. Johnson and Dudley each tallied eight kills, while Cribbs dished out 30 assists and added a pair of digs. Defensively, Briyith Echeverri anchored the back row with 13 digs, and Jordyn Lacey served up four aces for the Tornadoes.

With the sweep, Talladega secured two important conference victories and continued its late-season push. The Tornadoes' offense was balanced and efficient throughout both matches, backed by solid serving and strong team defense.

Talladega returns to action next week as the Tornadoes continue conference play, looking to build on their momentum from Friday night's dominant showing.
