Talladega College Competes in Hoops and Culture Exhibition at Wayne State

The Talladega College men's basketball team traveled to Detroit, Michigan to face Wayne State University in an exhibition matchup as part of the Hoops and Culture event. The Tornadoes battled hard but ultimately fell 67–59 in a competitive contest at the Wayne State Fieldhouse.

Talladega showed balance and fight throughout the game, holding the Warriors to a 29–29 tie at halftime before Wayne State pulled ahead late. The Tornadoes shot 25-of-36 from the free-throw line and forced 17 turnovers, converting them into 16 points.

Junior guard Eric Howard Jr. led Talladega with 15 points, knocking down a three-pointer and going 6-for-8 from the line. Tre Simmons added 11 points, while Shaun Walker contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jalen Bing-Wallace and Ethan Smith each grabbed six rebounds to help the Tornadoes on the boards.

Head Coach Jameus Hartsfield's squad battled through a physical game that saw both teams trade runs throughout the afternoon. The Tornadoes' defensive effort was highlighted by four team blocks and six steals, showing signs of promise early in the season.

Talladega will look to build on this performance as they continue preparing for the regular season.
