WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Talladega College women's volleyball team traveled to Ohio where it picked up a 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-11) win over Wilberforce University tonight. The Tornadoes are now 5-4 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 0-8 on the year.
Talladega has won four of its last five matches and posted its second shutout in those five matches.
The Tornadoes finished with a match-high nine aces.
Franchesca Rivas paced the Tornadoes with nine kills while tallying digs and two aces. Teammates
Zariah Messick,
Kortni Johnson, and
Josephine Gates each registered eight kills.
Talladega's
Briyith Echeverri finished with a team-high 15 digs out of the team's 41. She tallied three aces along with her teammate
Stella Lukaszuk.
Nuria Santos and
Giovana Costarelli each finished with 16 assists.
Talladega is back home on Saturday at 6 pm when it hosts Truett McConnell University.
