NEW ORLEANS – The long road trip did not end the way the Talladega College volleyball team would have hoped as Loyola University Wolf Pack defeated the Tornadoes in three straight sets Saturday afternoon in the University Sports Complex.
Talladega led early in the first set 2-0, but once the Wolf Pack took the lead Loyola never looked back winning the sets 25-16, 25-9 and 25-13.
Simone Tyson led Loyola with 12 kills and added 11 digs for a double-double. Emily Sheperis added 10 kills while Gracie Bailey passed 23 assists. Brittany Cooper also aided the back row with 11 digs.
As a team, the Wolf Pack finished with a .313 attack percentage compared to a .033 attacking percentage for the Tornadoes.
Talladega College will step out of conference play with a home match against Miles College. Match time is set for 6 p.m. in the Dr. Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center.
