Tornadoes Fall in Battle with BPC

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – One early goal provided to be the difference in a defensive battle as the Talladega College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Brewton-Parker College Lady Barons Thursday night in Southern States Athletic Conference action.

The lone goal in the contest came from Ashley Venegas at the 20:33 mark with an assist from Beata Chako. From that point, both teams worked hard to keep the other from scoring as the game came to a 1-0 decision in favor of BPC (4-8-1, 1-3-1 SSAC).

Monet Brown came away with eight saves for the Tornadoes against nine shots faced by Brewton-Parker. Alongside the only goal in the contest, Venegas led the Lady Barons with three shots on goal.

Talladega College (0-5, 0-3 SSAC) will continue the road tour with a trip to Macon, Georgia to take on Middle Georgia State College (6-5-2, 3-1-1 SSAC) on Oct. 15 at noon. The Knights received votes in the most recent coaches' poll and enter the contest on a three-match winning streak.
