Talladega College continued its dominant postseason run on Sunday, securing its second win of the Hope Credit HBCUAC Baseball Championship with a commanding 14–1 victory over Wilberforce (OH) at River Run Park in Northport, Alabama.
The Tornadoes wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Miguel Rubio delivered the biggest blow early with a bases-clearing double to right center, driving in three runs. Eli Payne and Joshua Catala Santos followed with RBI hits to cap off the explosive inning and give Talladega a 6–0 lead.
Wilberforce managed to push across its only run in the second inning, but Talladega College Tornadoes quickly responded and never looked back. The Tornadoes added runs in five different innings, highlighted by consistent production throughout the lineup.
Rubio led the offensive charge with two hits and three RBIs, while Victor Rivera also drove in three runs on three hits. Jonathan Williams added three hits and an RBI, and Catala Santos finished with two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI. Payne contributed two hits and an RBI, as Talladega totaled 15 hits on the day.
On the mound, Luis Perdomo earned the win, improving to 6–1 on the season. He tossed 4.2 innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out four. Nomar Caraballo Morales closed the game with 2.1 scoreless innings, holding Wilberforce hitless to secure the victory.
Talladega's balanced attack, combined with strong pitching, kept momentum firmly on its side as the Tornadoes continue their pursuit of a conference championship. With back-to-back wins in tournament play, Talladega remains one of the top contenders in the Hope Credit HBCUAC Championship bracket.
