Talladega College baseball delivered a dominant offensive performance over the weekend, sweeping a doubleheader and continuing its strong conference run with commanding wins over Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
Talladega opened the series on April 10 with a 10–1 victory, setting the tone early with runs in each of the first four innings. The Tornadoes used patience at the plate and aggressive baserunning to control the game from start to finish. Joshua Catala Santos sparked the offense with three runs scored and three stolen bases, while Victor Rivera led the lineup with three hits and an RBI. Armando Jackson added two RBIs, and multiple players contributed to a balanced offensive attack.
On the mound, Diego Duque delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight. His command kept Rust off balance all game and anchored the Tornadoes' first win of the day.
In game two, Talladega continued its offensive surge with a 12–2 win. The Tornadoes exploded for multiple runs in four different innings, highlighted by a five-RBI performance from Catala Santos, who also homered. Diego Duque contributed again at the plate with a home run and two RBIs, while Jonathan Williams added two hits and two RBIs. Adrian Epps and Williams were also active on the basepaths, helping apply constant pressure on Rust's defense.
Hunter Scott got the start in game two, going five innings and allowing two runs, while Jose Franco closed the game with two scoreless innings to secure the win.
Talladega carried that momentum into April 11, delivering its most explosive performance of the series in a 22–10 victory. The Tornadoes erupted for 22 runs on 14 hits, highlighted by Jonathan Williams' six RBIs and Adrian Epps' three RBIs, including a triple. Eli Payne added four RBIs, and Jaiden Cartwright chipped in with two more as Talladega's lineup produced from top to bottom.
Despite Rust scoring 10 runs late, Talladega's early offensive outburst proved too much to overcome. Georgio Emaildi earned the win on the mound, while multiple pitchers combined to close out the game.
Across the series, Talladega showcased its depth, offensive firepower, and aggressive style of play. The Tornadoes combined timely hitting with disciplined pitching performances to secure the sweep and strengthen their position heading deeper into conference play.
