Talladega College fell to Tougaloo College, 84–70, Monday night despite a strong performance from Shaun Walker.
Tougaloo led 37–29 at halftime and pulled away in the second half, scoring 47 points after the break while shooting efficiently from the field and the free-throw line.
Walker finished with a game-high 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting and added five rebounds and two blocks. Tre Simmons scored 12 of his 12 points in the second half, knocking down four three-pointers, while Treyon Delmore added 11 points off the bench.
Talladega totaled 18 assists, led by Derek Burditt with eight assists to go along with five points. Arthur Williams chipped in six points and a block.
Tougaloo was led by Antonio Patterson with 21 points and Demarcus Hollis with 15. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent in the second half and converted 10 free throws to secure the win.
Talladega returns to action later this week as conference play continues.
