Talladega built an early cushion and withstood a second-half push to earn a 75-70 conference road win over Oakwood Thursday night (January 15) at Ashby Auditorium.

Talladega led 40-32 at halftime after an efficient opening 20 minutes, then did enough down the stretch to secure the five-point victory.

Shaun Walker powered the Tornadoes with a monster performance, finishing with 25 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. Tre Simmons added 15 points, and Derek Burditt chipped in 10 as Talladega placed three players in double figures.

As a team, Talladega finished with 40 rebounds, seven steals, and four blocks, executing well late to seal the road win.Talladega will continue conference play this Saturday with a matchup against Fisk University.
