The Talladega College men's basketball team continued its push through conference play Monday night with an 86–70 victory over Wilberforce University inside the Tornadoes' home arena.
Talladega controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 43–28 advantage at halftime and maintaining steady pressure throughout the second half. The Tornadoes matched their first-half scoring with another 43 points after the break to secure the 16-point win.
Senior forward Derek Burditt led all scorers with 23 points, anchoring Talladega's offense with strong post play and finishing through contact. Arthur Williams and Treyon Delmore each added 12 points, giving the Tornadoes consistent scoring on the perimeter and in transition. Ethan Smith rounded out the top scorers with 8 points.
Wilberforce attempted to rally in the second half, scoring 42 points after intermission, but Talladega answered every run with timely baskets and defensive stops. The Tornadoes' ball movement and interior scoring kept the Bulldogs from gaining momentum.
Talladega also received key contributions from its bench, including Isaiah Mayes (9 points), Shaun Walker (7), Tre Simmons (4), Michael Kinnard (5) and Mason Donald (3), as the Tornadoes used their depth to close out the conference victory.
With the win, Talladega continues to build momentum as conference play moves deeper into the season.
