Talladega College is excited to announce the addition of Ahlea Myers as the new Assistant Coach for the Tornadoes' Women's Basketball program. Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Myers brings fresh perspective, high energy, and a passion for empowering student-athletes to reach their full potential.
Her academic background includes studies in Biology and Public Health at Charleston Southern University, Coker University, and Chicago State University.
Myers was a collegiate student-athlete for five years, playing point guard at multiple institutions. She transitioned into coaching as a Graduate Assistant at Chicago State University before moving into the role of Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) at Dartmouth College. Her passion for leadership, mentorship, and competitive excellence has now brought her to Talladega College.
When reflecting on her journey, Myers says her proudest moments come from seeing student-athletes grow and succeed, both on and off the court.
Myers describes her coaching style as passionate and positive, teaching with intention and purpose while fostering an uplifting environment. She is committed to bringing energy and encouragement to every practice and game, while playing a pivotal role in helping the program continue to rise.
Her mission for the upcoming season is simple and bold, bring home a championship. She also aims to strengthen team chemistry by cultivating a family-like atmosphere where players feel valued and supported. Myers plans to be a strong asset in recruiting, showcasing Talladega College as a place where prospective student-athletes can feel at home both academically and athletically.
Driven by a love for basketball and a desire to instill life lessons beyond the game, Myers enters this role determined to make an immediate impact. Ahlea's full focus is on building relationships, fostering trust, and making a difference from day one.
