HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Talladega softball team opened a three-game series against Rust College on Saturday afternoon, picking up a 2-0 victory behind a stellar pitching performance from Sofi Wagner-Stiles. The Tornadoes have now won five of their last six games, and the current three-game win streak matches a season-best.
 
Talladega scratched across both runs in the top of the seventh inning, capitalizing on a two-RBI hit to right field off the bat of Beautiful Curry. That provided Wagner-Stiles with all the support she would need, as the freshman closed out an outing that included just one and 14 strikeouts by fanning the side in the final frame. 

She delivered a no-hitter through 6.1 innings before Rust's Ayanna Williams doubled to right on a ball just out of reach of a diving Kayhlen Washington.
 
The shutout is Talladega's third in the last eight days, with Wagner-Stiles in the circle for each of them. The Tornadoes and Bearcats wrap up the series on Sunday with a doubleheader slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
