Talladega College put together a determined and competitive performance on Thursday night, showing fight from start to finish in a 72–64 conference battle inside the Billy C. Hawkins Student Activity Center. Although the Lady Tornadoes led early and continued to challenge throughout the contest, a late scoring push from Rust shifted momentum in the closing minutes. 

Talladega came out with energy, scoring 19 first-quarter points while forcing turnovers and converting second-chance opportunities at the rim. The Tornadoes' effort on the offensive glass helped establish an early tone, while their defensive pressure created scoring chances in transition. 

The Tornadoes continued to compete aggressively at both ends of the floor, outrebounding Rust 33–27, recording 13 steals, and getting valuable production from both their starters and bench. Despite facing foul trouble and turnover challenges, Talladega remained within reach heading into the final quarter. 

Ceara Myers led Talladega with 18 points and four rebounds, attacking the basket consistently and providing scoring stability throughout the night. Kameron Jones followed with 16 points and eight rebounds, impacting the game on both ends with her activity and physical presence. Off the bench, Olympia Chaney delivered an important spark with 14 points, helping Talladega stay competitive through key stretches.

Talladega's defense was active and disruptive, producing multiple steals and contested possessions. Kiersten Usher set the tone with five assists, three steals, and two blocks, anchoring the defensive intensity and helping the Tornadoes generate opportunities off pressure. 

Despite the loss, Talladega showed poise, toughness, and stretches of high-level execution, a performance that highlighted the team's growth, depth, and willingness to compete through adversity.

With a demanding stretch of games ahead, Thursday night provided valuable minutes, scoring balance, and the type of physical test that Talladega can build on moving forward.
