The Talladega College women's basketball team put on an electrifying performance in their home opener Tuesday evening, defeating Truett McConnell University 82–44 inside the Billy Hawkins Student Activity Center. The victory moves the Lady Tornadoes to 2–0 on the season.

After a slow start in the opening quarter, Talladega exploded in the second period, outscoring the Lady Bears 30–11 to take full control of the game. The Lady Tornadoes kept up the defensive pressure throughout the night, forcing 28 turnovers and converting them into fast-break points that kept the home crowd on their feet.

Junior forward Ceara Myers led the offensive attack with 18 points and 8 rebounds, dominating inside the paint. Junior guard Colbrina Flowers added 15 points and 2 assists, while Kameron Jones showcased her two-way ability with 11 points, 6 steals, and 4 assists.

Kiersten Usher chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds, and Ja'Kalynn McGinnis was strong off the bench, contributing 5 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Tornadoes controlled the boards with 43 total rebounds and shot 46.7% from the field as a team.

Head Coach Andre Payne was pleased with the team's energy and ball movement but emphasized areas for improvement following the win.
"The team looked good in our trap defense. We must improve on our man-to-man and zone defense," said Payne. "I was proud to receive great scoring off the bench from Ceara Myers and Colby Flowers."

Talladega will look to keep their momentum rolling as they prepare for a tough road matchup against Alabama A&M University on November 5.
