Lady Tornadoes Set to Open 2025–2026 Season on the Road Against Point University

The Talladega College Lady Tornadoes are ready to tip off their 2025–2026 season today, October 24, on the road against Point University. This marks the second season under Head Coach Andre Payne, who is eager to lead a tough and determined team into a new year of competition.

Coach Payne, assisted by Coach Aleah Myers and Graduate Assistant Andre Payne Jr., has built a group that he describes as "tough and aggressive." Entering his second year at the helm, Payne's vision for the Lady Tornadoes is clear: "We want to lead the nation in steals and forced turnovers, dominate the defensive boards, and average at least 65 points per game."

The Lady Tornadoes' strength lies in their depth at the post position—a key advantage Payne believes will set them apart. "We have the best post players in the conference," he noted confidently.

Two vocal leaders have emerged early in the season: number 30 Kiresten Usher, a junior guard from Lithonia, Georgia, and number 33 Ceara Myers, a junior forward from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Both players bring leadership, consistency, and heart to the floor, helping the Lady Tornadoes establish a competitive identity.

As the team continues to grow and build chemistry, Coach Payne shared what he's most proud of so far: "This team has competed hard with each other in practice. That competitive fire is what's going to prepare us to win."

With their season opener set for 4:30 p.m. EST, the Lady Tornadoes are ready to bring their trademark toughness and versatility to the court. Expect intensity, defense, and a team that plays with purpose as Talladega College tips off a promising new season.
