TALLADEGA, Ala. — The Talladega College Lady Tornadoes faced a tough defeat against the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians, losing 63-40 in an HBCUAC matchup on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

After a slow start, the Lady Tornadoes struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game. They fell behind early, trailing 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, and were unable to recover as the Lady Magicians extended their lead in each subsequent period. Talladega finished the first half down 29-17, facing a daunting challenge in the second half.

The Lady Tornadoes attempted to mount a comeback in the third quarter, but their efforts were thwarted by a strong defensive performance from LOC, which limited their scoring opportunities. Despite some flashes of offense, Talladega managed only 14 points in the second half.

Kameron Jones led the Lady Tornadoes with 11 points, while DeJaria Lewis contributed 6 points and 10 rebounds. The team struggled with their shooting, finishing the game with a field goal percentage of just 24.6% and a dismal 13.3% from beyond the arc.

The loss marks a setback for Talladega, who now holds a record of 6-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The Lady Tornadoes will look to regroup and bounce back in their next game as they continue their quest for a successful season.
