Tornadoes Track and Field Team Shines at KMS Invitational

The Talladega College Track and Field team recently traveled to the Birmingham CrossPlex to compete in the KMS Invitational on Sunday, January 19. The Tornadoes showcased their skills, with several athletes achieving personal best marks and impressive finishes.

Highlights from the meet include:
  • Lamoy Duffus, who placed 9th in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.16m and 7th in the 60m dash with a personal best time of 7.84 seconds
  • Jaedon Chambers, who set the pace for the sprint squad with a time of 6.94 seconds in the Men's 60m dash
  • The Men's 4x200 team, consisting of Kaleb Tankard, Chris Louis, Anthony Gentles, and Justin Emmanuel, who took home the runners-up spot with a time of 1:30.91
  • Alexis Goodman, who placed 5th in the High Jump
  • Eusebio Hernandez, who threw an impressive 13.19m to take 4th place in the shot put, while teammate Danrick Robinson finished 5th with a throw of 13.04m
  • Steph May, who jumped an impressive 6.49m to finish 8th in the Long Jump

The Tornadoes' impressive performance was not lost on head track and field coach Terry Gaitor, who praised the team's hunger and work ethic. "I am excited to be here at Talladega with these athletes... They are constantly working and pushing each other to be the best on and off the track."

The Tornadoes will be back in action on January 24, 2025, at the Bleu Devil Invite at Dillard University. Until then, let's keep cheering on our talented athletes. Go Tornadoes!
