Women’s Soccer Earn First Win of the Season over Point

WEST POINT, Ga. – The Talladega College women's soccer team did not wait long to taste the thrill of victory as the Tornadoes captured a 3-1 win over the Point University Skyhawks Thursday afternoon at River Bowl Stadium.
 
Point scored the first goal of the contest at the 17:56 mark as Carolina Marin scored on an assist by Nolwenn Blain for a 1-0 lead.
 
From there, the game turned in the Tornadoes favor starting with a successful goal at 35:03 by Annalisa Vincent to force a 1-1 tie going into the half-point break.
 
Autumn Wyatt provided all the scoring in the second session with an unassisted goal at 53:35 to break the tie and provided another unassisted goal at 66:51 to put Talladega up to the 3-1 final tally.
 
Dega outshot Point 15-8 and posted a shots on goal edge of 9-6.
 
Vincent posted eight total shots with three SOGs and her game tying score. Gabrielle Bryan posted three shots, while Wyatt made the most of her two shots with two goals.
 
Natalie Need earned the win in the goal with five saves and only a goal allowed.
 
Talladega College returns to action Saturday at home against Brewton-Parker College starting at 4 p.m.
