Men’s Soccer Falls in Late Rally to Point

WEST POINT, Ga. – Two second half goals led to the demise of the Talladega College men's soccer team who fell 2-1 on the road to the Point University Skyhawks.
 
Gihong Kang scored on an assist by Diogo Palhoto in the 60th minute, and later Palhoto scored on an assist by Moritz Dalpiaz with just under three minutes left to put Point up 2-1 and grab the home win.
 
Christopher Syms scored his first goal of the season at the 22:24 with an assist from Jalen Smeins to give Dega the early 1-0 before the two-goal rally from the Skyhawks.

Syms led the way with three total shots and two shots on goal. Tavar Lawrence posted two SOGs, and Tyrike Andrews added two shots with one on goal.
 
Leonard Richardson faced five shots on goal from Point and collected four saves with just one allowed. Ivory Smith played just over 13 minutes of action in goal, allowed one goal and snatched a save.
 
The Skyhawks edged the Tornadoes in total shots, 13-11, and in shots on goal, 7-5.
 
Talladega College returns to action Thursday, Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. against Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia.
