WALESKA, Ga. – The Talladega College men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 19-25) to Reinhardt University this morning. Talladega is now 3-15 on the season while Reinhardt is 12-1.
Reinhardt opened up set one with a 9-4 lead but Talladega was able to chip away to cut the lead to two and trail, 12-10. Reinhardt pushed its lead to 18-13 before the Tornadoes scored back-to-back points to trail by three. Reinhardt closed the set out on a 7-0 run to win, 25-15.
Talladega took an early 3-2 lead in set two before Reinhardt tallied three straight points to go up, 5-3. Both teams went back and forth with Reinhardt holding a 7-5 edge. Reinhardt used a 15-8 run to push its lead to 20-11 before going on to win 25-16 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
With both teams tied at seven in set three, the set stayed close for most of it until Reinhardt grabbed a 13-10 lead. Talladega was able to make it a two-point difference to trail, 14-12. That would be as close as the Tornadoes would come as Reinhardt went on to win 25-19 and take the match, 3-0.
Talladega tallied 12 block assists as a team.
Both
Ahmon Catlin and
Hugo Marques finished with five kills for the match. Teammate
Andrea Tognazzo tallied a team-high 11 digs with
Elijah Foster finishing with 17 assists.
