TALLADEGA, Ala.-- The Talladega Tornadoes gymnastics program heads to Louisiana for a pair of meets at Centenary College in Shreveport.
The Tornadoes will face Centenary College and Alaska Anchorage in a triangular meet on Friday, February 9 at 7 p.m. The Tornadoes will take part in the Centenary quadrangular meet on Sunday, February 11 at 12:30 p.m. taking on Centenary, Alaska Anchorage, and Greenville. Fans can tune in

The Friday dual for the Tornadoes is replacing the canceled MLK Day Invitational in January.
"We are continuing to push the boundaries," said Talladega head coach Aja Sims-Fletcher. "We are excited to see some tough competition in Louisiana with this double meet weekend and continue to gain experience in different competition environments."
The Tornadoes were last in action at the Auburn quad meet on February 3. The Tornadoes' presence at the Neville Arena on Auburn's campus during Black History Month marked the first time this HBCU institution had competed in their home State of Alabama.
Krystin Johnson (Baltimore, Maryland) and
Alexa Chuy (Scotch Plains, New Jersey) tied for eighth on the vault, with a score of 9.750.
Mackenzie Butler (Orlando, Florida) and
Kiora Peart-Williams (Ontario, Canada) made their debuts for the Tornadoes in the vault and floor exercise respectively.
Other leaders for Talladega were Peart-Willaims on bars with a score of 9.725,
Alondra Maldonado (Bayamón, Puerto Rico) and
Morgan Swaby (Kennesaw, Georgia) on beam with a score of 9.775, and Maldonado, Johnson, and
Landyn Williams (Buford, Georgia) on the floor exercise with a score of 9.600.
