TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches with visiting Central State tonight. The Tornadoes took match one 3-1 and fell 3-2 in match two.
Talladega is now 3-14 on the season while Central State is now 1-16.
The Tornadoes are back on the road Saturday when it faces Reinhardt University at 11 AM and Truett McConnell University at 6 PM.
Match 1: Talladega 3, Central State 1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-22)
Malik Foreman paced Talladega with 12 kills on 35 attempts over four sets. He finished with four of the team's nine aces. Teammate
Andrea Tognazzo finished highs in aces with five and digs with 14 while registering five assists.
Hugo Marques finished the match with seven kills and three digs while
Elijah Foster tallied 23 assists
As a team, Talladega finished with 10 block assists and one block solo for the match and didn't record a single blocking error.
Match 2: Talladega 2, Central State 3 (19-25, 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 7-15)
Foreman finished the match with a double-double in kills with 15 and digs 12. Teammate Marques joins him in double-digits in kills with 12 while adding eight digs in the process.
Foster, who had 23 assists in the first match tonight finished with 39 in the second. He tacked on three kills and seven digs.
Ivory Smith and Tognazzo each tallied over 10 digs each. Smith finished with 12 while Tognazzo had a team-high 17 digs. Tognazzo registered three of the team's six assists.
