Women’s Soccer Late Goal Leads to CAC Tournament Upset

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – A defensive battle went on until the final minute, where the No.4 Seeded Talladega College women's soccer team came away with a 1-0 victory over the Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Saturday morning in the opening round of the Continental Athletic Conference Championships.
 
Ana Santos scored her second goal of the season in the 89th minute on a penalty kick with just seconds to spare in the contest.
 
Both teams posted 11 shots. However, Talladega posted six shots on goal compared to four for the SMC.
 
Santos led the attack with five shots and two SOGs. Annalisa Vincent, Hasha Holder, Mya Ramdoo and Jenally Barco all posted a shot on goal.
 
Natalie Need posted four saves in her 90 minutes in the net.
 
Talladega College has a day off before facing the top seed and hosts Georgia Gwinnett College on Monday at 5 p.m.
