TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College women's volleyball team made it eight in a row with a 3-2 (25-12, 18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-11) victory over NCAA Division II Albany State University tonight in its final home match of the regular season. The Tornadoes are now 22-7 on the year while Golden Rams fall to 13-7 on the season.
Talladega jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening set before the Golden Rams were able to get on the board. The Tornadoes then put together a 9-3 run to push their lead to 13-4 and after that never looked back as they went on to win 25-12.
Both teams found themselves tied at two in the second set, but the Golden Rams used a 6-1 run to go in front, 8-3. Talladega fought to keep things close as they were cut the lead to four to trail, 14-10. That was as close as the Tornadoes came as the Golden Rams built off their lead to go on to win 25-18 and tie the match at one.
With the match tied at one, both teams fought back and forth for the first 16 points to end up tied at eight. Back-to-back attack errors by the Golden Rams allowed the Tornadoes to go in front 10-8 and it sparked an 8-4 run to push the lead to, 16-12. Albany State came within two to trail 20-18 but it wasn't enough as Talladega took the set 25-21 and went up 2-1 in the match.
Tied at six in the fourth set, the Golden Rams used a 9-3 run to take a 15-9 lead. The Tornadoes chipped away at the lead as they came within three to trail 19-16 but it was not enough as Albany State claimed a 25-20 win and tied the match at two.
Going into the final set of the match, Talladega took an early 3-1 lead but found itself tied seven times with the last one coming at, 10-10. The Tornadoes then used a 5-1 run to win the set 15-11 and win the match, 3-2.

Re'na Ashley tallied 11. Ashley hit .320 throughout the five sets.
Giovana Costarelli finished with 26 assists to led the team. She added eight digs in the process. Nurai Santos joined Costarelli in assists as she registered 17 along with four digs.
Briyith Echeverri registered a team-high 23 digs, two assists, and one kill.
Taquoia Rounds tallied 11 digs of her own.
