Men’s Soccer Rally Falls Short to Wiley

FLOWOOD, Miss. – The Talladega College men's soccer team fell behind early and could not overcome the deficit in a 5-4 loss to the Wiley University Wildcats Saturday evening at Liberty Park Field in a Continental Athletic Conference matchup.
 
Anthony Ulloa opened scoring for Wiley with his first of three goals at the 10:15 mark. Ulloa scored in the 55th and 64th minutes to complete the hat trick. Sandwiched in the onslaught was a goal from Aaron Castillo in the 27th minute to give Wiley a commanding 4-0 lead.
 
Jose Attong got the Tornadoes (4-5-2) on the board with a shot assisted by Tavar Lawrence in the 70th minute.
 
However, Christopher Haegar posted a goal to push the Wildcats lead to 5-1 in the 79th minute to make the rally more challenging.
 
Lawrence posted consecutive goals, the first in the 84th minute with an assist from Olomidara Olukayode, and the second came unassisted in the 87th to move the score to the 5-3 final.
 
The Tornadoes outshot Wiley 18-12 and posted more shots on goal, 12-8. Lawrence led the squad with five shots and four shots on goal, Attong went 3-for-3 with shots on goal, and Malachai Daniel added a 2-for-2 effort with shots on goal.
 
Leonard Richardson captured three saves in 90 minutes of action in goal.
