Women’s Soccer Shutout by GGC

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College women's soccer team posted an unsuccessful return to the pitch with aa 5-0 loss at the hands of the Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies Wednesday afternoon in Continental Athletic Conference action. This was the Tornadoes' first match since Sept. 28.
 
The Grizzlies tallied 11 shots in the victory. Eight of those shots were on goal. Meanwhile, Dega finished with three total shots.
                                                     
Gabrielle Bryan posted two shots to lead the squad, while Ana Santos posted a shot as well.
 
Kimberly Rigsby spent all 90 minutes in the net and tallied three saves against the five goals allowed.
 
Natalie Maguire opened the scoring, finding the back of the net in the 18th minute. Just 64 seconds after Maguire's opening tally, Riko Yasuzawa scored to put GGC up 2-0. Gabriela Rosas capped the Grizzlies' first-half offense by scoring an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute.
 
During the 56th minute, Aurora Miglio put Georgia Gwinnett ahead 4-0 with an assist from Sanaa Listenbee. Cecilie Povlsen posted the final goal of the day in the 85th minute, unassisted, to reach the 5-0 final.
 
Talladega College returns to action Oct. 22 against Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia starting at 2:30 p.m. The match was rescheduled from the original date of Sept. 5.
