GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Talladega College men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (8-25, 18-25, 16-25) to host Georgetown College and 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 24-26, 20-25) to Indiana Tech in the final day of the Georgetown Volleyball Tournament. The Tornadoes fall to 0-3 on the season.
Mallik Foreman finished the day with 14 kills while teammate
Elijah Foster tallied 42 assists with 33 of them coming against Indiana Tech.
Talladega is back in action tomorrow when it travels to Midway, Ky to take on Midway University at 11 a.m. and Bluefield University at 1 p.m.
Match 1: Talladega 0, Georgetown 3
Georgetown leaped to an 8-3 lead in the opening set, but the Tornadoes were able to cut the lead to four after taking the next two out of three points to trail, 9-5. The Tigers broke the set open as they went on to a 25-8 win and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Talladega took an early 5-4 lead in set two, but Georgetown strung together a 7-1 run to take an 11-6 lead. The Tornadoes were able to cut the lead to five and trail 15-10 after taking advantage of a series of errors by the Tigers. Both teams went back and forth but Talladega was able to come within four, but Georgetown had the momentum to take the set, 25-18.
The Tigers looked to close things out against Talladega in set three when they took a 9-2 lead. Georgetown pushed its lead to 15-9 and after that never looked back as it took the set, 25-16.
Foreman finished with five kills while Foster registered nine assists in the process.

Match 2: Talladega 1, Indiana Tech 3
Trailing 3-0 in the first set, Talladega's
Ty'Sean Wallace got the team on the board with a kill to make it, 3-1. Indiana Tech increased its lead, but the Tornadoes fought until both teams found themselves tied at 17. Each team went back and forth with Tech in front 20-19 and then things shifted where Talladega used a 6-2 run to close out the set and claim a 25-22 win.
Talladega found itself down 11-2 in the second set, but the Tornadoes were able to stay alive as it cut the lead to seven to trail, 17-10. Tech pushed the lead to 23-14, but Talladega used a 4-0 run to come within five. It wasn't enough as Tech took the set 25-18 to even the match at one.
Tied at four in the third set, Talladega was able to take a 10-7 lead before both teams found themselves tied at 12. They each went back and forth with Tech holding a 19-18 edge. Neither team was able to get more than a two or three-point lead on one other until Talladega tied the set at 24. Tech was able to take the set claiming the next two points to win 26-24 and go up 2-1 in the match.
Down 6-0 in the set four, Talladega slowly chipped away at the lead, but it was too much to overcome from the start. The Tornadoes were able to come close to three a few times but Tech kept the Tornadoes at arm's reach to win, 25-20.
Talladega as a team tallied seven aces in the match.
Ahmon Catlin and Foreman each tallied nine kills while Tognazzo tallied 13 digs.
