NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Talladega College women's volleyball team closed out the weekend with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 25-12) over conference foe Fisk University on Saturday afternoon. The Tornadoes improved to 13-6 overall and 6-1 in the GCAC.
Talladega had four players finish with kills in the match with
Kiana Polk and
Re'na Ashley finishing with 12 kills apiece. Both
Nedu Evans and
Zyaire Prettie Garrit each had 11 kills. Ashley hit .407 for the match to go along with her team-leading in kills while teammate
Josephine Gates hit .500 as she tallied five kills on 10 attacks.
Dominque Madarang registered a double-double in digs with 12 and assists with 17.
Taquoia Rounds (18),
Giovana Costarelli (12), and leading the team
Briyith Echeverri (25) also tallied double digits in digs. Costarelli finished with a team-leading 22 assists for the match.
Talladega is back home on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when it hosts GCAC rival Oakwood.
