TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Talladega College women's basketball team closed out its regular season Saturday afternoon with a 67-52 loss to Stillman College in a Southern States Athletic Conference game at Birthright Alumni Hall.

Stillman (16-12, 8-10) - which was celebrating Senior Day and Homecoming - jumped on the Tornadoes (5-20, 0-19) early, scoring the first seven points of the game before building a 24-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Tigers extended their lead to 41-17 by halftime before Talladega made a huge comeback in the second half.

The Tornadoes outscored Stillman 26-3 in the third quarter to close to within 44-43 going into the final period. The Tornadoes actually had a chance to take the lead, but missed a shot in the dying moments of the period before settling for a 1-point deficit headed into the final 10 minutes.

A basket by Makayla Transou put the Tornadoes ahead 47-46 with 8:21 to go, but Stillman scored the next seven points to go up 53-47 and Talladega never led again. The Tigers closed the game on a 14-1 run over the final 5:07 to pull away and seal the win in both teams' regular-seasonm finale.

Farrah Pearson led four Stillman players in double figures with 14 points and five rebounds. Jamesha King just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, Laneja Warner added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists and Desiree Tyner chipped in 10 points, three rebounds and three blocks.
