MOBILE, Ala. - The Talladega College competitive cheer squad spent the weekend in Mobile, Alabama for a busy weekend of action that culminated in the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship event on Saturday.
The Tornadoes posted their best score of the weekend in the Championship, where they recorded a team mark of 59.28 which was good enough for a sixth place finish. The performance was nearly six points better than any other score during the weekend's competition for TC.
The weekend got underway on Friday with a trio of events. There were two separate University of Mobile invitationals, and a head-to-head tilt against Brewton-Parker College. Talladega finished fifth in each Mobile Invitational. They scored 47.7 points in the first event, and 53.4 points in the second competition. In their head-to-head matchup with Brewton Parker, Talladega emerged victorious, 47.6-43.6
The SSAC Championship event was the final event for the Tornadoes in the 2022-23 season.
